Updated description Version 2.72

Improved functions:

  2.  A new registry key: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CyberTracker Software\CyberTracker\Version2\DatabasePath".

You can set this to point to a remote share and CyberTracker will take it's databases from that location. If you want to deploy a change to this registry key, the easiest thing to do will be the following:

        a. Run notepad
        b. Copy the following text into it:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CyberTracker Software\CyberTracker\Version2]
    "DatabasePath"="
    \\GISSandra\CyberTracker\Database"
    "Registered"=dword:00000001
        c. Save the file with the extension .REG.
        d. Double click on the file from explorer and it will automatically set the key in the registry for you.

You can send this file to other people via email. Also, setting the "Registered" value to 1 (above) means that you don't see our Greenware notification.

  3. Modified the CTZ import to allow it to correctly import files from CyberTracker Version 2.1.
  4. Streamlined installation/uninstallation so that it doesn't require a reboot or a restart of HotSync.

    • Palm debugger halts on undefined and incomplete screens.
  2. Registration windows allows you to install a sequence even if you have not registered.
  3. Help files revamped.
  4. Tables may now be exported as shapefiles.
  5. Added a filter to allow filtering of observations by UniqueID (linked to HotSync user name). See changes.txt in the zip file for more information.

Version 2.46 (November 2001)

Update Description 2.46

Added functions:

  1. Improved support for translating CyberTracker into other languages. Read "c:\program files\cybertracker\local\readme.txt" for more information.
  2. Improved support for superimposing ArcView shapefiles onto georeferenced images.
  3. Fixed a problem which would crash Win95 and Win98. See changes.txt in the zip file for more information.

Version 2.44 (July 2001)

Fourth version 2 release.

Added functions:

  1. Improved support for translating CyberTracker into other languages. Read "c:\program files\cybertracker\local\readme.txt" for more information. Not complete yet.
  2. Fixed some bugs with variable access in the PDA application (caused crashes when the GPS timer was used). Problems still exist with the Geode's own libraries, which we cannot fix.
  3. Improved the Satellite acquire screen to give more (meaningful) information. See the User Manual for details (section "Collecting data").
  4. Support for Magellan Companion GPS verified.

Version 2.42 (April 2001)

Third Greenware release.

Added Functions:

  1. Support for Geode GPS. The Geode GPS is automatically detected and used.
  2. Verified support for Magellan Companion.
  3. Improved GPS resolution. If you have observations very close to each other, you may notice rounding of the positions (your observations appear on top of each other, or in straight horizontal or vertical lines). This will require modification of your existing point.dbf, path.dbf and time.dbf database tables. (Use the Database Desktop to change the LATITUDE and LONGITUDE resolution of 'size' to 12 and 'dec' to 8.) The Database Desktop is not a part of CyberTracker, and must be acquired from Borland. The examples and templates distributed with CyberTracker 2.42 have already been modified.
  4. Support for HandyGPS. The HandyGPS is automatically detected and used.
  5. Satellite abort Press down on the GPS triangle for longer than 1 second, and you can abort the GPS position acquisition. Useful for when heavy canopy or poor GPS coverage prevents a fix.
  6. GPS Overide. In the "screen specific" area of the screen writer a new "meaning" has been created. Called "GPS", this allows you to turn enable or disable GPS usage from within a sequence. With "GPS: Off", the sequence will behave exactly as if you had chosen not to use the GPS at all, with no position acquisition taking place with "OK" or "STOP". Also prevents GPS timer position acquisitions from taking place.
  7. Multilanguage support. Not fully implemented yet.

Version 2.41 (February 2001)

Second Greenware release.

Version 2.40 (December 2000)

First Greenware release.

This "free for conservation use" distribution required moving to MapObjects Lite, and the associated loss of the ability to export shapefiles, the use of polylines and polypoints observation types.
