Where to Buy

Handheld Computers for Palm OS options

  • Garmin iQue3600
  • Palm m500 series
  • Handspring Visor

Garmin iQue3600

Warning: The PalmOS Garmin iQue3600 uses an internal battery which would need to be periodically recharged, either by plug, car adapter, or our field solution below. We do NOT recommend this option for fieldwork, since you cannot replace the batteries in the field.

To recharge in the field you need a 12-volt power charger system.

Make up your own recharge kit with the following units:
1.   Sealed Rechargeable Lead Acid Battery (12V 2AH)
2.   Battery Charger for 12V Sealed Lead Acid Battery
3.   Car Cigarette charger for the Garmin iQue3600
4.   External Cigarette Charger connected to the rechargeable battery.

Palm m500 series (m500, m505, m515)
Magellan GPS Companion Palm m500 series

The Handspring Visor PDA / Magellan GPS Companion option, which we have been using extensively, is no longer available.  However, this is an excellent option if you can locate one used.
