Wildlife Demonstration Sequence

To demonstrate how CyberTracker works an example database is provided with the Wildlife Demo sequence. The database contains data for 1997 from a National Park in Africa with Projects containing Tables and a Map. Note: For security reasons the rhino data has been deleted.

First open Cybertracker.

To open Wildlife Demo Database:

  1. Click on New project icon.
  2. Select Wildlife Demo Database and click OK.

To see how Screen sequence works:

  1. Select Tools, Simulator.
  2. Click on Simulator buttons and icons to scroll up and down, forward and backwards and to select items on screen.
  3. To close Simulator click on [x].

To see how Database is structured:

  1. Select Tools, Data Manager to look at Database.
  2. Click on folders in left panel of Explorer tab to see database items appear in right panel.

To see how Screen Writer works:

  1. Select Tools, Screen Writer.
  2. Click on a screen listed on the left panel of the Screen tab to see what the screen would look like on the palm computer as shown under Preview.
  3. Double-Click on a screen name on the left panel to call up Screen Editor.
  4. Click on the right hand side of the General tab to find drop down menus.
  5. Click the "..." button that appears next to Icon to call up Select Icon.
  6. Follow same procedure with the Screen Specific tab.
  7. Go back to Screen Writer and try the Sequence tab. Right-Click on the left panel and click on the right side of the right panel to find drop down menus.
  8. Select Tools, Icon Manager to see how icons are stored for use in screen sequences. Click on the folders in the left panel to see their contents appear on the right panel. Click on the icons on the right panel to see an example of the icon appear above right. Icons are stored in Icon Manager after being drawn on Paint programme in black and white.

To look at Data in a Table and Map:

  1. Select File, Open.
  2. Select Antelope, OK and wait for project to load.
  3. Click on Table icon on the menu bar at the top. From the Table View window that appears, select the table you want to view.
  4. Click on Map icon on the menu bar at the top. From the Map View window that appears, select the map you want to see.
