Feature List



CyberTracker consists of three main components:

  1. Application developer to create data capture screens for the handheld computer or Smartphone
  2. Reports to view data in Tables, Maps, Photo views or Graphs
  3. Elements to manage the database Elements

In Applications, the New Screen feature allows you to select a Screen Template for:

The Applications developer allows you to create your own Custom Screen Templates, using the Layout feature

The Applications developer allows you to define the screen properties and to link screens into a Sequence of screens.

The Application Properties allow you to:

  1. Select General Appearance properties
  2. Select General System properties
  3. Set the GPS properties, including sighting accuracy, track accuracy, manual GPS entry
  4. Create multiple Moving Field Maps for real-time navigation on the handheld computer or smartphone
  5. Create GPS GoTo waypoint settings

The Applications developer allows you to create multiple Applications and to manage them

The Layout feature allows you to create your own screen design using a Toolbox of screen components and controls. See Toolbox options below.

The Applications developer has a simulator to do a Test Run to bug check your Application, before Installing the Application onto a Windows Mobile or Palm device.

The Reports allows you to:

  1. View and Query data in a Table
  2. View data on a Map
  3. View photos attached to data
  4. Create Graphs
  5. Export data

Map options include:

  1. Microsoft Virtual Earth (default view)
  2. Google Earth
  3. ESRI Shapefile map layers
  4. Image map

Map Rendering includes:

  1. Point data
  2. Path data
  3. Grid Analysis for Cell Count
  4. Grid Analysis for Effort
  5. Grid Analysis for Index of Abundance

The Map Legend includes:

  1. Select to show or hide particular Query
  2. Show or hide Timer points
  3. Color, Style and Size of points
  4. Transparency

Map Tools include:

  1. Zoom in or out
  2. Select area to Zoom into
  3. Pan map view
  4. Select data point
  5. Measure distance
  6. Move point
  7. Create Field Map

Map settings include:

  1. Map appearance
  2. Track Timer settings
  3. Datum and Projection settings
  4. Image map geo-reference settings
  5. Map export settings

Graphs include:

  1. Frequency Graphs
  2. Efficiency Graphs
  3. Trend Graphs
  4. Trend Data

The Query Editor includes:

  1. Date range selection
  2. Inspector showing individual observations
  3. Edit or Delete sightings
  4. Adding and removing Table Columns
  5. Specify Output for each Column
  6. Datum and Projection
  7. Advanced Filter Builder

Reports also allow you to create multiple Reports and to manage reports

CyberTracker Server Setup

A CyberTracker database is normally a Microsoft Access database or .MDB file. CyberTracker supports connections to Server databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

CyberTracker Command Line

Several CyberTracker features can be triggered via the command-line. This functionality is usually intended for server side scripts that operate on the database as a whole.

CyberTracker Remote Synchronization

If your project involves multiple handheld users sending data to a single database, then this feature may be of interest to you. Remote Synchronization involves CyberTracker desktops and PDAs sending data over the internet to a central server. The database administrator can then download this sighting data into a consolidated database.
